“Hangman Style” Connection

Pedal : VEMURAM JAN RAY clone (1590A size)
Details → part1 of 3

I absolutely wanted to shoot “Hangman Style” Connection.
So, I chose a brute force means to insert the Silent-PLUG (NEUTRIK) on the other side.
(On that day, Another right angle cables seems to have gone on a journey from my bag ...)

Ibanez TS808HW clone part 1

I tried to miniaturize the old Marshall turret board.
The main wiring uses vintage style cross wire and test point for through hole board.

This is still a provisional built-in state, and the wiring to parts such as pots is going to make another attempt.

VEMURAM JAN RAY clone (1590A size) part 3

About the electrical insulation treatment process

Partially thin the case, apply UV-Resin and harden it.
It is much stronger than the Hot Bonds commonly used, the surface is smooth and non-sticky.

Insulation treatment of parts where battery terminals are likely to touch.

In addition, it treats parts that are at risk of electrical interference in the same way.

It also processes back cover.
This is only partly scraped.

Even if these processes are omitted, it works.
However, by applying these, 9V (006P) battery can be used more safely.

VEMURAM JAN RAY clone (1590A size) part 2

Homage to ...

If this battery is shown in the picture,
There is no longer any need to express his name.
My wiring is affected by his wild technique.
(Crazy Eyed Beast next to him is completely irrelevant)

Since the choice of the opamp was hard to decide,
I installed a socket in exchange for precious space.

As a result of trial and error, this time LM1458D was chosen.
Using the current 4558 lines, I felt that the gain was somewhat too high.

VEMURAM JAN RAY clone (1590A size) part 1

HAMMOND - 1590A, 5(4+1)knobs, 3PDT foot switch specifications.
9V (006P) battery can be installed.
The control knob arrangement is the same as the original.
The trimmer was exchanged for a part that can be turned with fingers.

Compact and lightweight. Since it does not require an external power supply,
it can be connected by hanging it to the "input terminal" or "send & return terminal" of the amplifier.
Unnecessary cables disappear from the feet and the pedal board,
and it is possible to obtain the warm sound of Jan Ray even from the cold impression amplifier.

Depending on the position of the battery,
the foot switch had to shift from the center to the side.
So I thought of using the illusion of the human eye.
By digging angled grooves and adjusting the position of the knob,
usability like a normal pedal was obtained.

At the rear is a DC jack and a trimmer as the fifth knob.

It is possible to close back cover without gaps.

Almost all parts touch each other on a flat surface to prevent loosening.
Regarding electrical insulation treatment and physical clearance for safety,
I will update it later.
